I ran the entire race! My time was 35 minutes, 25 seconds. I ran the entire time with rocket.dyke, who slowed down enough to let me keep going.
At the beginning of the race I allotted 35 minutes in my head, and really only started to struggle around 27 minutes. I just kept counting down from 35 minutes mentally. The last few minutes were really rough, but I just kept going, cheered on by rocket.dyke. I didn't think I'd be able to talk at all while running, but I actually did, quite a bit. We talked a lot about food sensitivities and how to deal with them, and triathalons and marathons, and that kept my mind off the agony of running.
My huge mistake was not doing PBS before the race. I had planned to, but then got distracted. I tried to run in alignment (and noticed a bunch of really duck-footed runners!) and definitely feel better in my joints today than I did after the Revlon in May, but I still had some knee pain in my right knee. I did PBS about 5 minutes after finishing the race, but I think if I'd done it before the race my knee wouldn't be hurting.
It is going to be such a nice luxury just to do B/R three times a week and not have to run!
