Yikes! Wrote this three days ago but forgot to post it!

I am so annoyed with my computer. My wireless is working just fine at my house for my babysitter, but my computer won't always connect, and bumps itself off all the time. I think it's that it has Vista. Also, I've been sleeping like there's no tomorrow trying to finally shake this stupid cough. It's completely counterproductive.

Anyway, I am thrilled, THRILLED, that Stalker Shannon (who was getting worse and worse) and evil Lauren were booted on Monday night. Also, it was time for Megan to go, too. I think General Hospital should hire her to be a villainess, because she looked awesome and perfect for soap operas.

I'm still rooting for Jillian the Canadian hot dog girl, but am liking Molly more and more, and Melissa, too.

Awesome weekend, and finally watched Lost. It's all almost too much for me at this point, although in a good way. I love that they've messed with us in almost every way, and have now added the serious time travel element to the list of things that are Currently Going Wrong. Also, the return of the white-haired lady!

I'm double-booked with a birthday party and then book club tonight, so won't have a Bachelor post up until later Tuesday, if I get a chance to watch it at book club (yes, it's my book club's dirty little secret that we sometimes watch The Bachelor after we talk about the book...).

Bachelor talk, with some random life stuff mixed in

I really don't think Stalker Shannon is a stalker. I think she just fell for Jason early on in the season with Deanna, and is getting herself all worked up about how he's her destiny. I guess I just figure, at this point, that if you follow the rules things work out the way they're supposed to.

(Have we ever talked about my rules for life? I have three, that have come to me over these past couple of difficult years:

1. Pay attention.
2. Don't be an asshole. [Meaning don't treat other people in a bad way, but also don't let other people treat you poorly.]
3. Trust your instincts.

A separate but equally important rule is: When offered the chance to use the restroom, take it, even if you think you don't have to go now.

I also have a core value and a core belief, but we can talk about those later if you care about them.)

I also think they're editing Shannon to look nuts, but she's no worse than the cleft-chin-keyhole-dress girl.

I really want the flight attendant to pull her hair off her face.

And I loved loved loved that the forgotten girl (Carrie?) said that the show was going to make her go for what she wanted, because she'd learned a lesson from hanging back and being eliminated. I hope she pursues her dreams and ends up with a wonderful match for her.

And is it just me, or is Jason waaaaaay more mature than previous bachelors, who would have kept Natalie in just because there was physical chemistry? Maybe having gone through a divorce teaches you a thing or two...

(The POI has all my four wish list items. Plus many other fine, fine qualities.)

I am going to be at a friends' birthday party, so will not be able to talk about Lost tomorrow, but will put up a post and anyone can talk about it without me.

Tonight is Bachelor night!

Good: I am finally making some progress with painting and de-crappifying my apartment! And I'm feeling all rainbows-and-puppies about a Person Of Interest. And my friend had a baby over the weekend and he's adorable and healthy.

Bad: I just found out that one of my friends is dying, probably in the next few days. I didn't even know she was sick.

Ugly: I may be becoming physically addicted to the Songs in the Key of Life double album by Stevie Wonder. Although I guess that's probably OK, since I'm officially off caffeine now and doing fine.

Feeling slightly better

But overwhelmed by how much I have to do, in all areas of my life. Yikes. I didn't even get to watch all my DVR'd reality TV from Monday and Tuesday yet.

In other news, I've lost 5% of my starting body weight on Weight Watchers. Yay! Once I hit 10% I get a keychain.

Still sick

So I'm sort of, almost, starting to feel human again. I slept a lot of the day yesterday, and think I'm going to go to sleep right now again. Robitussin is my friend.

Bachelor talk? The Brazilian girl was a little nutty, with her "I want my husband to love me so much he never wants to marry again" talk and sneaking into the SUV to talk to Jason.

The Canadian hot dog girl may still be my favorite.

I slept like a rock last night. It was kind of startling. I can't even remember any dreams! But I took a nap yesterday and had a nightmare, so maybe that evens out.

I've decided that since I'm cranky and feeling strange anyway, I might as well just quit coffee (it's been in the works for a few weeks). I'm drinking decaf now (wireless at the cafe, and T is drinking hot cocoa and drawing happily next to me) and am going to use Emergen-C as methadone to get off the caffeinated coffee.

T just said to me, "Mommy, let's call my babysitter a kidsitter, 'cause I'm a kid not a baby."

Feeling so wiped out and sick. Tons of freelance work I can't focus on because of the sick, and because my babysitter is still on vacation so I'm the only adult on duty. And T is giving up his nap. Scared of WW weigh-in tonight because I've been feeding my cold instead of eating sensibly.

On the plus side, I found $21 when I cleaned out my lingerie drawer yesterday.

Wednesday

So I know my kids' father reads Ask Moxie, and I'm betting he reads this blog, too, so no steamy hook up stories will be able to be posted. Sorry. (And, yes, it does irk me that he reads my sites, but it's a free country so there's nothing I can do about it.) However, things are better than they've been in 12 or so, or perhaps ever, years.

Moving on...

I am amazed at the ability you all have to separate out the spokesmodels on the Bachelor! I never do that well with the first episode, since 25 practically identical "girls" confuse me. I can't really tell them apart until they're down to 15, although 9 is better.

And I *never* liked Deanna. I've thought she was an avaricious, cold opportunist from when she was on the Bachelor season in which she was turned down by Brad. (I never understood why people were so upset that Brad ended up picking no one! Why would it be so odd to think that maybe someone might be smart enough to realize that their ideal mate didn't happen to be in a particular group of 25 people?)

And I think her true nature came out on her season of the Bachelorette and the way she treated the guys. I thought both Jason and Jesse were too good for her, and wasn't surprised to hear that she and Jesse broke up.

(OK, I'm completely scaring myself with my recall and comments. Is it any better if I tell you that much of my Bachelor viewing is done with members of my women's college bookclub? As is my American Idol viewing? No? Rats.)

So I just wish Jason could have his chance to have these women think he's amazing and hook up with all of them, then pick one, break up with her in four months, and go back to Seattle to find the love of his life and live happily every after with a normal person.

OK, so it looks like they're not going to have as much of the son in it as they made it look like from the promos. That makes me feel pretty relieved.

I'm kind of baffled by why the kid is there at all, though. If my ex wanted to go on a dopey reality TV dating show, there is not a chance in the world that I'd allow my kids to be filmed that much. (My freelance boss, though, pointed out that I'm also not the kind of person who appears on reality TV. Which I guess is only partly true, as I'd go on Project Runway in a heartbeat if I had any design talent. And one could argue that blogging is my own form of reality TV, so who knows?)

But it seems like Jason may have custody of his son? And his wife was the one who ended the marriage? Which all just seems strange enough that I'm stating these things all as questions? And if you were hearing me say them I'd be doing that annoying thing with the upward inflection at the end of each sentence? Ya know?

I couldn't pick a winner or finalist (I have kind of an uncanny talent for picking the runner-up during the first episode). And then the whole Deanna reappearance twist surprised me.
