I am so impressed w/ El Pequeno's verbal skills! My DD is his exact age and she has no real words. But she can point to her nose, the balloon, the kitty, whatever you tell her to point obviously the receptive language ability is there. I can't wait for her to talk!

Oh, and I LOVE the Carmina Burana. I sang and played the celesta in a college performance of it. Tempus est iocundum!

I love this age, when they start to develop language and seeing how they put it all together.

My older daughter called me Mama and my mom MAH-ma for months. It was a distinct difference, but yet the same word.

Language development fascinates me. Jamie knows tons and tons of words, but no two-word combos yet. I'm a little jealous! :)

Yay for music appreciation.

My husband's chamber choir (Albany Pro Musica) just did Carmina Burana last weekend as their big spring finale. In the weeks before the performance, he went around practicing his part all the time, and playing the CD in the car. My 2yo daughter is now totally obsessed with it. She likes to shout, "VAFNA!" and then say, "That's from Carmina Burana."

I'm a long-time lurker, btw. I don't think I've ever commented before, but I've been reading since sometime before El P was born. So hi.
