"When offered the chance to use the restroom, take it, even if you think you don't have to go now." I've learned that the hard way.

hush

Good rules to live by! Also, "Whenever anyone offers you gum or a mint, take it!"

Ladre

Absolutely agree on using the washroom whenever possible (I nearly typed "pissable" LOL). Like anna, it's a hard lesson learned.

Lost! Oh, how I missed you. I honestly didn't realize how much until I was watching it last night. I don't want to discuss the specifics too much since some people probably haven't gotten around to seeing it yet. Just in general: Jack, you need to call me. I <3 you and I don't care what anyone says! I don't understand the show completely, but I love it.

I loved the exchange that went like this:

Richard: Take this.
Locke: What is it?
R: A compass
L: What's it for?
R: Pointing North.

Reminds me of Airplane!

And I think the show that Hugo's Dad was watching was the show that Nikki (of Nikki and Paolo) was on. What was it called?

Ladre

SarcastiCarrie-
The show was called Expose. I love those little references to the backstories!

As for the compass, someone pointed out on a different forum that in Locke's flashback ep with Richard (when Locke is a little boy), he offers Locke a compass, a knife and maybe something else as an object he (Locke) already owns. And Locke selects the knife - much to Richard's displeasure. Remember that? I didn't, but it was a good catch by another viewer.

Did you watch the re-cap show before the premiere? Interestingly, the creators mention Sun "believing" that Jin is dead. Oh happy day, because Jin is one of my Lost BFs!! Of course we don't know if that means he's *alive* or just *not dead* in the Lost-crazy-universe-way.

I did recognize the compass from the Locke flashback, but I was more amused by the Airplane-esque exchange. It really hit the spot.

Is it possible that it is Jack trying to ascertain the maternity/paternity of Kate's baby Aaron so that she will feel compelled to leave (and return to the island)?

After the Airplane! scene, my husband and I sat there and every time they flashed to the Oceanic 6 reuniting to return to the island, I kept saying (like in Blues Brothers), "We need to get the band back together. For the polar bears (in lieu of the penguins)." It was awesome (and I swear we were not drinking).

hush

Great "Lost" ep!!!! It's so good to have it back!

@Ladre, good call re: the compass & the flashback to Locke's childhood. Did you ever hear about the parallel between that and how the Dalai Lama's reincarnation is discovered by the ability to pick the correct object at a young age? So cool.

@SarcastiCarrie -I was thinking Ben was behind that maternity suit, so that Kate would go on the run, and see the island as somewhere she can be safe with Aaron.

Anyone else think Locke isn't really dead? I remember hearing that "Hoffs Drawlar" (the name of the funeral parlor) is an anagram for "Flash Forward." My guess is he'll be re-animated once they get back to the island. But I thought Ben said he could never go back after turning the wheel at the Orchid Station (was he lying)??

I loved the scene between Daniel Faraday & his "constant," Desmond, by the hatch. When Daniel told Desmond to find his mother at Oxford, I was sure his mother was going to turn out to be the white-haired time travel lady that Ben interacted with at the end of the ep. Maybe she still will be.

re: Charlotte's bloody nose - does that mean she has the same time travel sickness that killed the man on the freighter, or is she actually dead? Didn't one of the dead Dharma men who was showing Locke the pit of dead Dharma bodies, and said "I've been dead for 12 years" also have a bloody nose?

I love this show!
