    About Me

    This is my philosophy.

Search my archives on the upper left side of the screen. If I haven't addressed your topic yet, send me an email. I get 12-15 questions a day, so yours may not go up on the site, and since I have other jobs I may not answer privately, either. Someday...

New questions post M-F at 6 am (EST), usually, with a book review up on Friday night.

I have to laugh at the "we turned out fine" thing, too. My husband always says kids who didn't turn out fine could not be reached for comment.

OK, Beaver Girl, that is hilarious. Plain out hilarious.

I love, love, love the Halo sleep sacks. Both b/c I was a little SIDS nutty the first year, and also because (now that my daughter is 21 months) it is a non-kick-off-able blanket. There is just no way my daughter will keep on a blanket of any stripe. So I just use a sleep sack (they make them up to 2 years old now), with either cotton pajamas or fleece footie pajamas depending on the weather. Depending on how hot/cold your house is, there is both a fleece and a cotton jersey sleep sack.

And hello, Veggie Booty? Is there a conspiracy with that company to put parents in the poorhouse? Because it is still a top snack with my daughter and it is like $4 a bag.

My kids can't sleep if they're too hot. Perhaps it's because they live w/a couple of polar bears, but we put them in a sleeper and cover them with a light blanket (GASP!) at night and at nap time. I'll confess, we do have an electric, thermostat driven heater for their room which we find not only keeps the room at the proper temp, but also adds a bit of extra white noise once in a while, which can't hurt.

Moxie, I can't tell you how happy I am to see your method of choosing media products. Especially with twins, sometimes, you just need to poop and the television is the only distraction that'll do. Many times, I felt apprehensive to mention that I let my kids watch television sparingly throughout the day for fear of lynching. Now? Not so much.
